June 2024 Meeting in Manhattan

Denise Stahl was our featured Workshop Leader and Lecturer. She taught two half day workshops. The morning class was Convergence. The participants learned Ricky Tims technique. All you needed were four fat quarters to create beautiful quilt.

Denise taught another class in the afternoon with the Southward Designs pattern Carolina Dogwoods. The participants learned straight line piecing with curved results.

Our other instructor was Cheri Hanschu. Kantha quilts were turned into jackets. Every jacket was a masterpiece and so unique.

Denise presented two lectures. She has created 50 blocks for 50 states. Each block was a story and beautiful creation.

KQO was established in October of 1984 to further the art of quilting within the state and to bring quilters together to share their knowledge. Our membership includes hundreds of quilters from around the state of Kansas and a number of members from other surrounding states. We meet twice a year for two days, attending workshops, lectures, trunk shows, and other assorted activities. Every other year we offer a fellowship as well. Our instructors and lecturers can include local talent from surrounding areas, guests brought in from around the Midwest based on recommendations and requests and of course our own immensely talented KQO members.
