The quilt guild here in Ellinwood has five KQO members. This is an opportunity quilt that our local guild made to raise money for a recent graduate from our local high school that has been diagnosed with a rare liver cancer. We put up a quilt display in the local library during the month of March each year to celebrate quilting. This quilt is displayed to sell chances as a fundraiser for this family. If anyone is interested in tickets they can contact either Joy Schlochtermeier or Linda Sobba. We will be drawing for the quilt on March 28th.

KQO was established in October of 1984 to further the art of quilting within the state and to bring quilters together to share their knowledge. Our membership includes hundreds of quilters from around the state of Kansas and a number of members from other surrounding states. We meet twice a year for two days, attending workshops, lectures, trunk shows, and other assorted activities. Every other year we offer a fellowship as well. Our instructors and lecturers can include local talent from surrounding areas, guests brought in from around the Midwest based on recommendations and requests and of course our own immensely talented KQO members.
