Fall 2024 Meeting

KQO turns 40. We celebrated our Ruby Anniversary on Friday, September 27, 2024 after a full day of sewing. our president, Alice Rush, started the festivities reading the history of KQO and recognizing two of our charter members. Nancy Swank and Tony Munoz took some time to share their experiences in those beginning years of KQO.

Kansas Quilters Organization holds two state meetings a year. During the celebration members recalled memories when a year and speaker was called out. Our newer members learned so much about the organization as the members shared their experiences.

Membership over the decades. We are missing the years 2014 to 2024. That is our largest group of members.

The evening included a game of pass the bag, The Price is Right and Left, Right, Center. Jody Cheatum was a great game host.

We wrapped up our Ruby Anniversary celebrating with cake.

The third workshop was led by a KQO member, Lynn Colquhoun. The quilters participated in a Mystery Quilt and learned how to use or practice their skills with the stripology ruler.

We had our UFO space and 19 ladies spent their time working on projects that were unfinished.
